Noni, in Latin "Morinda Citrifolia", set off an unprecedented boom in the United States back in the nineties. Even people who hadn't heard of it before got enthusiastic. Thanks to reports heard, self-made experiences, and accounts, the noni juice became "the juice that dreams are made of".
An unobtrusive wild fruit can have significant influence on a person's state of health, without having side effects or any restrictions.
Noni originates from the edge of the rain forests of the French-Polynesian Islands; and the settlers from the today's Pacific Islands were the first to document the miraculous healing power of this fruit. If it's true what the people who are deeply routed in old traditions are telling, then there isn't hardly any disease that cannot be treated or healed with noni. Noni is the medicine man's fruit against pain, illness, and anguish. And the people healed named it "fruit of the gods".
Noni contains an element, Damnacanthal, which according to a Japanese study is the most effective substance which stops the T-RAS reaction. This function is supposed to be mainly responsible for the development of tumors and its inhibiting capacities allegedly provide new possibilities both as a precaution as well as a treatment against tumors. Finally we would like to mention one of the most effective substances of noni, that is great accumulations of serotonin precursors, which do not only encourage mental balance but at the same time are important components of the metabolism as well as of the body's own hormone production. The latest scientific studies show that a low level of serotonin encourages the readiness to use violence and the development of destructive stress.
The reason why this fruit from the South Seas is so good for your health is mainly the unique quantity of enzymes contained in it. This wild fruit has about 80 times more enzymes than for example pineapples and therefore, it takes part directly in the biochemical life (prolonging) process by activating the approx. 2,000 enzymes. Enzymes do much more than just to improve digestion; without these catalysts no life would be possible and for becoming active they need a lot of specific cofactors.

A person who wants to start drinking noni juice expecting an improvement of his or her state of health with the help of the juice of the noni should pay attention to choose only natural juice. This applies for all juices from natural products, whether fruit or vegetable, because only such juices really contain the ingredients and suspended solids whose effects are the important thing in folk medicine. Charging juices with flavorings and concentrates from other fruits in order to improve the taste of these juices is an annoying custom which is coming more and more into fashion; and this helps to increase the turnover rather than health.
Furthermore, I would like to add that for the effects prized there is no scientific evidence. In the U.S.A. it is even illegal and prohibited to advertise medical or health-promoting effects of noni products.
I would like to point out to my readers that apparently there are two importers who distribute this juice in the E.U. Maybe there are even more by now, I didn't go deeper into this matter. One of them sells via network marketing, which I do not like at all and I strongly advise against it, because the commissions paid in this field are tremendous. Ask your pharmacist or search the internet for a source where you can get noni juice, as we do not recommend any special supplier. Our readers should decide by themselves. I also recommend asking your family doctor before including noni in your diet, regarding possible intolerances. Maybe he as a doctor has already heard of experiences other patients made. It is the same as with tea: everybody has to decide for him or herself, and not everybody who decides to lead a healthier life needs scientific evidence for all and everything.
At the end still something to think about – all reports on noni juice are based on what people tell who are living where this fruit grows. This means people who eat noni as a fresh and whole fruit and they not just drink the juice of it. So if someone really places his hopes on the much prized healing benefits of this fruit – wouldn't it be better to plan a vacation to the place where you can get it fresh, pure, and natural? However, this would not be a cure a health insurance would pay for and it may be very expensive.
