Age spots respectively liver spots on the skin can now be removed simply and without any risks. There are various methods to do this.
Removing liver spots by means of laser technology
Before applying this method your doctor will first the examine the age spots, in order to make sure they are age spots or liver spots and no nevi (birthmarks). Then the spots will be treated with a laser. The laser will be aimed precisely on the pigment inside the epidermis. When the white discolouring caused by the treatment has vanished, the spot treated will first turn reddish and then become a bit crusty. About 14 days after the treatment the spot is healed and nothing can be seen anymore. The price for this treatment is about 100 EUR for the back of both hands (we recommend to inquire the price before, as prices may vary from clinic to clinic) and there will be no scars left. Liver spots treated with this method will vanish forever.
Removal of liver spots by freezing
This method of removing liver spots is not carried out by a dermatologist but by a beautician who is familiar with freezing techniques. The freezing device contains only water and ice (no freezing agents) and has a temperature of minus 32° C (- 25.6° F ) The beautician will treat the upper layers of the skin (the epidermis), applying the freezing device for about 10 seconds on the liver spots. This will cause an icy snow on the treated spot and the spot will simply shed.
